In the history of events at Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU Rave Up with Zinoleesky 2022 will remain a remarkably memorable one. Everything about the event was top-notch. From the publicity to the D-day, it was a perfect 100%. Writing this, I shiver with excitement as I just want to jump right into the event’s details. But like Zino said, “E no go make sense if you don’t know the journey,” so sit tight for this one.
OAU Rave up with Zinoleesky is a musical concert brought to OAU by Vesti and planned by Xetreme Innovation. Vesti is a Migrant tech app that connects people to global opportunities like relocation, studying abroad, job opportunities, and many more. The app is targeted at young people. To create awareness, they decided to speak the language of the youth; a free music concert with one of Nigeria’s finest artistes. To attend the concert, all fans had to do was to download the Vesti App, register, and acquire the ticket for the event free of charge.
With the understanding of the words of Antoine de Saint-Exupery that a goal without a plan is a wish, Vesti entrusted the success of this event into the expertise of the Xetreme Innovation, a prodigious event planning agency with the aim of creating events that are unique, special and memorable.
Xetreme Innovation kicked off with planning as soon as Vesti reached out. The event planning agency was in charge of publicity, the selection of venue and MCs, organization of the carcade, venue set up, the welfare of the audience, and notable guests. As an event for the youths, there was no better venue than the Amphitheater, the biggest hall in Obafemi Awolowo University. It could be nicknamed OAU’s O2 arena (LOL). This venue has the capacity to hold over 5000 people.
A day before the event, 3rd March 2022, there was an aesthetically structured carcade for final official publicity. People, students, and fans of Zinoleesky were introduced to the fun they would experience at the concert with the presence of some of the hosts like, Corporate Emcee, MCKay, Ayo Santos, and DJ Bamz at the carcade.
The event on the 4th of March 2022 commenced some minutes after 6 pm with an organized red carpet session and audience sign-in. The event was free but there was a strict policy to ensure that audiences downloaded and registered on the Vesti app. On the red carpet, Abimbola Amosun the co-founder of Vesti Technologies expressed that they chose Zinoleesky because the group Vesti is focused on helping, is the younger generation and it was better to connect with them with a young artiste who appeals to them. Before the end of the red carpet, it was proven that Vesti made the right choice. The hall with the capacity to hold over 5000 people was almost filled up.
The hosts, Corporate Emcee , and MC Smith should be commended for their teamwork and great crowd control. They carried the audience of the hall in sync for hours. They engaged the audience and had firm control of the ceremony. Honestly, there was no dull moment.
Also, there were iconic performances from the finest artistes on OAU campus, dance performances, and a dance drama from OAU’s Awo Boys.
Finally, the highlight of the event hit the stage with an excellent intro from the hosts. The Amapiano King, as I like to call Zinoleesky, had the crowd mad at his entrance. He respected OAU’s dobale code and earned the respect of the students. People sang along with him. They loved that he was able to connect with them, he performed like he was amongst his friends and it was really enjoyable. After the concert, I had “Rocking” playing in my head over and over. The event was also sponsored by Coweb Hub, T-Marvel entertainment, Havilah, Leon, and Posh. To relive the moment, Coweb Hub did a video coverage of the carcade and the event.
The concert was a beautiful one. If good organization was an event, it would be Rave Up with Zinoleesky 2022. The venue was safe and secure, the security was tight. Over 5000 people attended the event and there was no critical or scary moment. Xetreme Innovation had it all figured out. You can always trust the agency to handle any kind of event.
